Jonathan Cape was a British publisher and a subsidiary of Random House, which was founded in 1921. The company was known for publishing works by many prominent authors, including Aldous Huxley, Evelyn Waugh, and Daphne du Maurier, as well as children’s books by Dr. Seuss and Margaret Atwood. Jonathan Cape was also known for its distinctive design and typography, and for producing high-quality editions of classic works. The company merged with Random House in 1987 and is now part of the Penguin Random House group.
