The aim of the book is to set clinical practice firmly in a scientific framework (and also be concise). The Tenth edition follows the format of the earlier editions i.e. being practical oriented. This book will help the medical student who is not satisfied with merely fulfilling the minimum needs of an examination. It will give the family physician extra knowledge needed in general practice and provide an idea of how- his patients are managed when referred to a hospital. And, it can also provide a basis for the post-graduates who are entering into the realm of advanced studies. The book has now included a Color Atlas, giving a practical approach with diagnosis and management to common conditions in practice.

Divya Prabhat Completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the G.S. Medical college and K.E.M hospital, Mumbai. Received training for Micro-ear surgery in Germany and Cochlear implants in Australia. Postgraduate teacher at the college of physicians and surgeons since 1993. Examiner at the MBBS, BHMS, DORL and MS ( ENT ) examinations. Delivered over 300 guest lecturers in India and abroad. Ex. President of Association of Otolaryngologists of India ( Mumbai ). Guest speaker at World congress of ENT at Sydney ( 1997 ) and Cairo ( 2002 ). Contributed ENT chapters in IAP textbook of Pediatrics, Principles of Asthma and Allergy, Textbook of Adolescent Medicine, 100 Questions in Paediatris and IAP colour atlas of Paediatrics. ENT Consultant to online sites Indian doctors guide and Paediatric on call. On editorial board of 4 indexed national journals and has 36 published research articles in national and international journals. Performed Ear surgery at campus in Kenya & Tanzania. Organised the first Indo-Australian Cochlear Implants workshop in 2002 and the first International Facial cosmetic surgery conference at Bangkok in 2010. Nominated as Top Doctor’s Mumbai for ENT 2013-14 by India Today.
